A BLEND OF AUTHENTICITY
AND URBAN LIVING

The original construction predates 1755, part of the architectural style of the 18th century, before the well-known “Pombalino” style. The distinctive elements of this period, such as spans, finishes and cornices, are kept according to the original facade design. The facade rehabilitation work intends to restore the true function without changing the extent and the span proportion. The concern to maintain the original architecture also translates into the new façade’s design, which is aligned with the rest of the building.

The building is East-orientated leading to the creation of a front of balconies in metallic structure that allows access to the dwellings. In addition to being Lisbon characteristic, the reticulated structure allows to solve the relation between the new construction and the existing facades.

Furthermore, the rehabilitation work also allows the building to be restored to its residential use and its relationship with the surrounding public space, contributing to the neighborhood revitalization.
